Where: Teddy Bear Bear Child Care Center, 1552 N. Fayetteville St, Asheboro 27203 Study: Different by Jonathan Evans

Today’s world tells teens to walk around life with a mirror in front of their face. They question their looks, persona, and acceptance nonstop, thinking that one more post on social media might gain people’s attention. Money and possessions become badges of wealth and worth that teenagers fight to wear. This obsession with self can even take a dark turn, spiraling into depression or suicide. Living with eyes glued on yourself will only lead to one thing: death.

God offers an alternative to the mirror. When God rules over our lives, he flips everything upside down. His kingdom looks nothing like the ways of the world—everything orients around loving him and serving others. Storing up possessions becomes obsolete and money has different value in God’s economy. Recognizing God as king changes the entirety of our lives. In this series, we will walk students through the parables in Luke to teach what it looks like for God to rule our lives.

CHILDCARE WILL BE PROVIDED

Despite our best attempts at love, couples find themselves paralyzed by dysfunction and mired in conflict. Why do we face so many seemingly insurmountable problems today? Is there hope for the struggle? What are we missing?

In this 4-part series, we will look at a indispensable element of a healthy marriage—respect. Combining biblical instruction with scientific expertise, to provide insight into the unique ways in which God has designed both men and women and how they can rightly embrace their differences in marriage. As couples come to see the heart behind their partner's complaints, they will better understand the place for both love and respect between husband and wife. Rather than becoming another statistic, struggling marriages can break their Crazy Cycle and become thriving marriages by living in accordance to God's good design.

Study: Not Alone by Jennie Allen
LIGHT DINNER PROVIDED / NO CHILDCARE AVAILABLE

In the beginning, God created one human. And in God’s sin-free, beautiful world, something wasn’t right. That the human was alone. The creation of Eve isn’t just the story of marriage. It’s also the beginning of community. God exists in trinity and we were made in his image.

We were created for community. And because our Father is generous, he’s given us one of the most essential and life-changing relationships for community: friendship.

In this six-week study Not Alone, we will talk about friendship. Find out why we need friendship, discover biblical examples of friendship, and identify the pitfalls, challenges, and joys of friendship. They’ll dive into the tough topics of toxic relationships, boundaries, and how to rebuild broken trust. But most of all, the teachers, real-life stories, and study guides will help you celebrate the encouragement, wisdom, and love that only comes when you’re not alone.
